I was recently lucky enough to return to Jardin, a colonial town in Antioquia’s southwest, to photograph the strange and beautiful Andean Cock-of-the-Rock (rupicola peruvianus).

Almost exactly a year after the first time I photographed the Cock-of-the-Rock, I’ve had the opportunity to do it again, this time with Victoria Restrepo‘s ‘Art of Visualizing’ Photography Workshop. Victoria is a Colombian photographer living in Washington DC, USA.

Here are photographs of the male of this species of the Cotingiae family, who live in rocks near rivers and waterfalls in tropical Andean forests.
