Quito, Ayampe & Otavalo

I travelled to Ecuador in 2012, crossing the border overland from Colombia in Ipiales and then making my way to the Pacific coast.

Quito

Quito is the capital city of Ecuador; located in the Pichincha province, Quito is located at about 2,800 metres above sea level in the Andes Mountains.

Quito es la capital de Ecuador; ubicada en la provincia de Pichincha, Quito está situada a 2,800 metros sobre el nivel del mar en los Andes.

Ayampe

Ayampe is a small surf town in Ecuador’s Manabí province which I visited in 2012. I also visited nearby Puerto López, from where I sailed to Isla de la Plata, known as Galápagos of the poor.

Ayampe es un pequeño pueblo en la costa de Manabí en Ecuador el cual visité en el 2012. También visité Puerto López, desde donde viajé a la Isla de la Plata, conocida como el Galápagos de los pobres.

Otavalo

Otavalo is an Andean town in the Imbabura province; it’s located at over 2,530 metres above sea level and stands next to the San Pablo Lake and the imposing Imbabura Volcano.

Otavalo es un pueblo Andino en la provincia de Imbabura; está ubicado a más de 2,530 metros sobre el nivel del mar y al pie del Lago San Pablo y el imponente Volcán Imbabura.
