I visited Morocco with my family in the summer of 2017 and it remains one of my favourite places in the world; the kindness and openness of the people, the unforgettable landscapes, the delicious food, and the vibrant medinas in the cities made it a unique and captivating destination.

Fes

Fes is the second-largest city in the country, its cultural capital, and one of the four Imperial Cities of Morocco; its labyrinthine alleways and arched doorways fill the medina with colour and geometry, and its legendary leather tanneries are as affecting as advertised.

Fes es la segunda ciudad más grande en el país, su capital cultural y una de las cuatro Ciudades Imperiales de Marruecos. Sus callejones laberínticos y portones arqueados llenan la medina con color y geometría y sus leyendarias curtidoras de cuero son tan impactantes como has oído.

Meknes

Meknes is another of the four Imperial Cities of Morocco and was the country’s capital for over fifty years in the XVII and XVIII Centuries.

Sahara Desert

The Sahara was a dream come true and it was even more spectacular than I ever could have imagined–from the powdery orange sand whipping up waves and mountains to the magical kasbah where we spent the night.

Marrakech

Marrakech, another of the four Imperial Cities, is one of the most emblematic of Morocco’s cities. Its foundation dates back to the year 1062 AD and its main plaza Jemaa el-Fnaa, at the centre of the medina and the hypnotic souks, draws multitudes at all times.

Casablanca & Mosque Hassan II

Casablanca is the country’s largest city and home to over four million people; its imposing Mosque Hassan II, located right on the Atlantic coast, is an architectural marvel and a popular tourist spot.

Rabat

Morocco’s capital Rabat, also an Imperial City, is an industrial port city with a romantic Mediterranean vibe located on the shores of the Atlantic.
