The Country of the Sacred Heart. That is what many Colombians call this country, which is one of the most biodiverse on Earth. Rather than praise Nature and her treasures, people praise religion and capitalism while our natural resources are pillaged for profit. That’s one of the main reasons I photograph our landscapes—to preserve them even if only in images, because while the president is playing guitar on national TV and praying to the Virgin of Chiquinquirá to solve all our problems, these slices of Heaven on Earth are being destroyed, abandoned, and forgotten.💛💙💔🇨🇴 2018.

Why must we stay where we don’t belong? This is where I’d rather be. 💛💙❤️🇨🇴 2018.

There’s nothing quite like a sunset on the beach to give us hope. So please wear your masks and get your vaccines as soon as they’re available to you so we can all safely get back to one, thanks. 💛💙❤️🇨🇴 2018.

Guys, I really miss the beach 😭 💛💙❤️🇨🇴 2018.

This spectacular territory in Colombia’s Caribbean Sea was destroyed by hurricane Iota in November 2020. The central government has done little to help rebuilding the remote archipelago, continuing their usual policy of neglect and abandonment.

Would rather be here right now. 💛💙❤️🇨🇴 2018.

Long disputed between Colombia and Nicaragua, legal custody of this tropical archipelago was granted to the South American country in 1928 and ratified in 2007. 💛💙❤️🇨🇴 2018.
