Bled, Slovenia

Visiting Lake Bled in autumn was an actual dream come true. I have no doubt it’s beautiful year-round, but seeing the lake through the thick fog, the surrounding forest painted in reds and golds, made it surreal in the best, most fairytale way imaginable.

Located northwest of Ljubljana in the Julian Alps, Bled is known for the medieval castle perched on a high cliff overlooking its iconic lake and its small island which houses a XVII Century church. It’s one of the country’s most visited destinations and is easy accessible by train from the capital.
