I visited Germany in the spring of 2018 and absolutely fell in love. I wasn’t sure what to expect but the people, the food, and the cities blew me away in the short week I was there. I spent most of my time in Köln and was lucky enough to have local friends show me around and take me to the fairytale Burg Eltz and the nearby town of Koblenz, plus an afternoon in Düsseldorf.

KÖLN • BURG ELTZ • KOBLENZ • DÜSSELDORF
Köln
Köln, or Cologne, is mainly know for its majestic gothic cathedral, an intricate and imposing monument whose construction began in 1248, but there’s a lot more to see and do in this cosmopolitan city. I especially enjoyed the old town, the food, and the nightlife.
Burg Eltz
Burg Eltz is a medieval castle whose construction began in the 1150s.
Koblenz
Koblenz is a small city on the banks of the Rhine and Moselle Rivers which dates back to the VIII Century BC.
Düsseldorf
Düsseldorf is an eclectic city north of Köln. I only spent a few hours there but loved the architecture that combines classic and modern styles.
