I had seen the Mediterranean Sea in France back in 2019 when I visited Provence, but it was the last week of December and too cold to swim. And I even though it was already October when I visited the Côte d’Azur in 2021, the water was perfect and the temperature still warm, and I thoroughly enjoyed being by the sea. From the colour of the water to the colour of the buildings, from the art to the sunsets, and of course, the sound of the waves rolling the smooth, round rocks, the food, and the beach culture, this is undoubtedly one of my favourite regions of France.

Villefranche-sur-Mer
The visual definition of “quaint”, Villefranche is another storybook town located on the Mediterranean coast very close to Ventimiglia just past the Italian border.
