In 2021, I had a crazy idea that took me to Puglia in southern Italy to look for a €1 house. Although I didn’t end up buying a property, it’s an experience I’ll never forget and I hope to return someday.
Lucera
First, I stopped in Lucera, a larger town that connects to Foggia by train. I unfortunately lost a lot of my photos from Lucera and its beautiful castle in a silly technical accident, but I’ll always remember the autumn light hitting the rolling hills, the tall grass bright and golden, the crumbling castle imposing, even in its decline.
Biccari
I didn’t like Lucera that much, to be honest, but I loved Biccari and spent a few days there looking at houses and getting lost in its winding, narrow cobblestone streets.
