LA and I have a strange relationship, a love-hate affair built over years of layovers and scattered visits. There are things I love about it—its beaches and sunsets, how colourful and eclectic it is—and there are things I don’t like about it—like its nearly inexistent public transport system and how hard it is to get from A to B—but each time I go, I discover new things to love and am reminded why, in a strange way, it’s a city where I feel uncomfortably at ease.
