Visiting Lake Bled in autumn was an actual dream come true. I have no doubt it's beautiful year-round, but seeing the lake through the thick fog, the surrounding forest painted in reds and golds, made it surreal in the best, most fairytale way imaginable.
In autumn of 2023, my family and I drove south-west from Slovakia and through Austria to arrive in Maribor, Slovenia's second-largest city, which greeted us with a bright rainbow.
