Nuestro viaje por el Amazonas deja atrás la selva colombiana para incluír a Perú y Brasil, nuestros vecinos amazónicos, y darnos una experiencia única, fascinante, y adornada por la mezcla de las tres culturas y sus tradiciones, del castellano, el portugués y el ticuna, y de la vida en la selva más espesa y grande del mundo.

Our journey through the Amazon leaves behind the Colombian jungle, indulging in the beauty of our amazonian neighbours, Peru and Brazil. In this mix of cultures and languages, the jungle gives us a unique and fascinating experience, adorned with the interchangeability of words and traditions, of Spanish, Portuguese and Ticuna, and life in the thickest and greatest jungle in the world.

Triple Frontera: Leticia, Tabatinga & Isla Santa Rosa

Empezamos nuestro recorrido en las ciudades fronterizas de Leticia (Colombia) y Tabatinga (Brasil) y la isla peruana de Santa Rosa en lo que es conocido como la Triple Frontera antes de seguir por el gran río Amazonas hasta las selvas peruanas.

We begin in the border cities of Leticia (Colombia) and Tabatinga (Brazil) and the Peruvian island of Santa Rosa in what is known as the Triple Border before continuing through the great Amazon river into the Peruvian jungle.

Río & Selva / River & Jungle

Nuestra primera parada después de salir de Leticia fue en la comunidad Gamboa, en la cual los tres idiomas regionales se mezlcan tan naturalmente como la pulverizada yuca para hacer la fariña. Al dejar la comunidad, continuamos por el río Javarí hacia la comunidad Yauma, y luego el río Sacambú hacia la comunidad con el mismo nombre.

Our first stop after leaving Leticia was in the Gamboa community, where the three local languages are mixed together as easily as the pulverised yucca that makes farinha. We continued on the Javari river towards the Yauma community, then taking the Sacambu river towards the community by the same name.

Los habitantes de la amazonía no se preocupan por las fronteras o el país o el idioma; viven su vida al ritmo de la selva, de las lluvias e inundaciones, y de los animales y frutos que les permiten la supervivencia en este hermoso laberinto acuático de cambios inparables y especies iniguales.

The inhabitants of the Amazon rain forest don’t worry about borders or countries or languages. They live their lives to the rhythm of the jungle, of the rains and the floods, of the animals and crops that allow their survival in this aquatic labyrinth of unstoppable changes and a unique variety of species.

Laguna Marasha

El viaje terminó en el puerto de Leticia, al cual bajamos por el gran río Amazonas, después de una parada mágica en la laguna Marasha, la cual se ve cubierta de verde por las magnificas plantas acuáticas, Victoria Regia (lotos gigantes).

Our journey ended on the great Amazon river which led us back to the port in Leticia, not before a magical stop at Marasha lake, which was blanketed in green by the magnificent Victoria Regia, water plants also known as giant lotuses.
