Nuquí 2011

En las selvas vírgenes del Chocó, en el Pacífico colombiano, se encuentran increíbles especies de flora y fauna, muchas endémicas en la región. Las ballenas jorobadas viajan allá durante los fríos inviernos en la Antártida para apareárse y dar a luz a a los ballenatos en las cálidas aguas de las bahías y golfos de la región. En el Golfo de Tribugá se encuentra Nuquí, un pequeño pueblo poblado por afro-descendientes y los indígenas Emberá. Una joya en la selva, un paraíso en la tierra, aquí hay una mirada de Nuquí a través de mi lente.

The virgin jungles of Chocó, on Colombia’s Pacific coast, harbour amazing flora and fauna, many endemic to the region. Humpback whales travel there during the harsh Antarctic winters to breed and give birth in the warm bays and gulfs of the region. In the Tribugá Gulf lies Nuquí, a small town populated by Afro-descendents and the Emebrá indigenous people. A gem in the jungle, a paradise on earth, here is a look at Nuquí through my lens.
